So sorry for your loss. Jim was a good friend and mentor while at the Convention Center. We worked together for many years. He talked me into finishing my Bachelors Degree and for that I am grateful. His wit was enjoyed by everyone. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Laughlin made a very positive impact on my life, the lives of my brothers, and the lives of many others. May the Lord's grace, peace, and comfort bless his family and friends, Amen!

Jim was my first supervisor in Kansas City on 5 Squad. I learned a lot from him that stood me in good stead for the rest of my career. Jim was a talented, very funny guy. I will miss him. Bob Carlson

Mr. Laughlin was a great man and taught many lessons to people he led and worked with. He greatly influenced my life as a young man returning home from the Army. Although he always thought I'd be a cop, I have had a great career as a Firefighter here in KC. I think of him often and remember the lessons well.
