I only learned of Pattie's illness and passing this morning. It is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences. I have such fond and happy memories of dancing at her studio. I, too, was one of those little girls that danced at Pattie's house on 75th and Walmer. After watching the older neighbor girls in dance class, my mother "finally" let me begin dancing with Pattie when I went to kindergarten. . . I was barely 5 years old. It was 1965 and I danced with Pattie until I graduated high school. From the house, to the tiny "underground" studio, to the multiple classrooms and a gym! When I moved back to Kansas City as an adult, my oldest child danced there too! Pattie was a role model in so many ways. . . nurturing, fair, demanding, a business woman, fun, interested in all of our lives and she pushed the buttons that made us our best selves. She molded our presence and confidence. Such warm memories of hand-sewn costumes, auditioning for parts and opening number, finally being old enough to be the "helper" on rehearsal days. . and OH! those recital nights! I know you must have countless loving memories to sustain you at this sad time. Pattie leaves a lovely legacy. With sincere sympathy and much love, Lynne Grossman Bock

I have such fond memories of Pattie and send my sincere sympathy to her family. I only learned of her illness and passing this morning. My heart breaks for what she and her family have had to endure. I, too, was one of those original little girls that danced at Pattie's house on 75th and Walmer. I had just turned 5 when my mother "finally" let me start dancing with Miss Pattie! Then, she built the tiny "underground" studio on Foster that grew into several classrooms and a gym! I danced with her until I left for college! Such fond memories of a great dance foundation, happy times, fun friends and a smiling, nurturing, yet "demanding" Miss Pattie! When I moved back to Kansas City as an adult, my oldest danced at the studio too! It is inspiring to see the staying power of her business! What a lovely legacy. . . I hope you, too, have happy memories to sustain you at this sad time. Lynne Grossman Bock

Pattie was an amazing lady. She always welcomed me into the studio whether I was there for dance or gymnastics. She gave me my first job as a gymnastics coach. Through her studio I made some long long friends and I still love dance and gymnastics. Today my children do both of these and I always think of Pattie. I am so glad to have known her!

I took tap, ballet and jazz from Pattie from 1068 until 1975 when I graduated from High School. After I was married I came back in about 1980 to take tap again. She really had an impact on my life. My sympathies to the family.

Pattie touched the lives of each of my daughters, but most especially Rachel. I sent Rachel skipping into the studio to learn to dance. I kept sending her to learn to live with passion, courage, and discipline. I will forever be grateful to Miss Pattie for the life lessons learned under her watch.

I took dance lessons from Pattie in the early 60's before she was a Beller. She was probably 21 years old. She did this at her parents house. I will always remember the fun we had. She will be missed greatly. God bless her and her family.

Pattie was an amazing teacher. My sisters and I started taking lessons from her in 1960 at her house on 75th street. We looked forward to lessons because she put so much joy into teaching. She created a love and appreciation of dance for us that will stay with us forever. We fondly remember the homemade costumes, class photos, and plaster ballerinas for perfect attendance. We could never thank her enough for her gift of teaching. With sympathy and blessings to her family, Patty Marquart Ikenberry, Cindy Marquart Deveaux, and Paula Marquart Sorg

Beller's was a big part of our three daughters lives. I spent a lot of time there, as they all took at least 1 class a week, and sometimes 2. Now take that times 3! Pattie was always so patient as we tried to set them up, trying to get some at the same time as one of the others. We always looked forward to the Recitals each year to see what they had learned. They always tried so hard to get the Perfect Attendance Award, so you know they really enjoyed going. To this day, they still love to dance. Thank you for helping us form our girls lives. Condolences to the entire family, but especially to Diane.

Pattie had such an impact on so many lives. The countless hours I spent in dance classes and the gym throughout my entire childhood are some of the best memories of my life. The platform she provided gave confidence and self-esteem to so many young girls (and boys). I know for a fact that it played a huge part in who I am as a person today.
